IP Mock Trial-A Look Inside Revisions
to Intellectual Property Law in China
ON APRIL 13TH, AmCham South
China in partnership with Anderson &
Anderson LLP co-organized an Intellectual
Property Mock Trial. The event offered
an exclusive presentation of a lawsuit
concerning important new revisions to
Intellectual Property Law affecting tech-
giant Taobao. A unique insight into the
intricacies of litigating an IP case in China,
and more importantly, how new revisions
to intellectual property law have changed
the environment in which companies can
seek compensation for infringements. The
mock trial presented the full breadth of a
real trial, including a pre-litigation stage,
court hearing, verdict issuance, comments
and conclusion. The event concluded with
a thought provoking Q&A session and an
informative discussion about the current
