First activity on the agenda was an exploratory visit to the
Maritime Silk Road exhibition. This informative display is
currently being held at the Canton Tower Metro Station.
Afterwards, the guests were invited to embark on a
Subway ride along the APM Line with as destination the
Guangdong Museum. The train’s theme was tastefully
inspired by Guangdong’s Underwater Past. What followed
was a guided tour on which the guests were informed
about “the legend of Ming maritime and trade” during the
Wanli era.
At this cultural exchange event, ancient mysteries
surrounding Guangdong’s maritime trade history were
unlocked for the eager guests. Many a hidden secret
involving Guangdong’s historic links with the world
temporarily have resurfaced from the hulls of underwater
shipwrecks.
