January 27th was International Holocaust
Remembrance Day. In the aftermath of the
Holocaust, the world has struggled to come to terms
with the horrors of the genocide, to remember the
victims, and to hold perpetrators responsible. To
remember the six million innocent Jews who were killed
in cold blood by the Nazis army in the Holocaust, a
memorial event themed “WE REMEMBER” was held
on January 27, 2022, by the Consulate General of Israel
and Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou. AmCham
South China president, Dr. Harley Seyedin and Consul
General of many nations in Guangzhou attended the
event. The event commemorated the victims of the
Holocaust by watching a film about the slums of the
Roman ghetto after World War II. All guests lit candles
to commemorate the dead.
