Meeting of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province and
Overseas Commercial Institutions in Guangdong
Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce invited AmCham president Harley Seyedin
and representatives from overseas commercial institutes in Guangdong for a roundtable on
December 11. Director General of Guangdong Board of Investment Promotion Sun Bin chaired the
meeting. Deputy Director General of Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province Chen Yuehua
and Director of Foreign Investment Promotion Department Zhang Ping also attended the meeting.
President Harley Seyedin first extended his gratitude to the Department of Commerce of Guangdong
Province for its full support for the resumption of work and production of AmCham’s member
enterprises during the epidemic. He then gave a brief report on the current operation situation
and reinvestment plans of member companies, which were quite positive. He also expressed his
willingness to deepen cooperation with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province.

Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce organized a seminar on Guangdong Cross-border Cash
Pooling Policy on December 16. Director General of Guangdong Board of Investment Promotion Sun Bin
chaired the seminar. The Guangdong branch of Agricultural Bank of China was invited to expound the policy,
including detailed criteria for an MNC and its participating companies to apply centralized cross-border RMB
operation, as well as document requirements in applying for RMB cash pooling.
