The 86th International
Forum on China Reform
Closing remarks by President of China Institute for Reform and Development Chi Fulin
China Institute for Reform and development (CIRD) hosted the 86th International
Forum on China Reform in Haikou, Hainan Island, November 14-15, 2020. The
theme was “High-Level Opening-Up China and the World”. Experts and scholars from
China and abroad were invited to discuss important topics such as: China’s Higher-level
Opening-up and Economic Globalization; China’s Reforms and Higher-level Opening-up
in Its 14th Five-year Plan Period; China’s New Development Pattern and its Domestic and
International Dual Circulation; International Anti-pandemic Cooperation in Normalized
Epidemic Prevention and Control; and, Hainan Free Trade Port and Regional Cooperation.
The two-day Forum keynote speakers included Ban Ki-Moon, former Secretary General
of the United Nation and Chairman China BOAO Forum and Pascal Lamy, President
Paris Peace Forum and former Director-General World Trade Organization (WTO).
