On September 13th at the Conrad Hotel, Hong Kong, HSBC invited a select 27
senior finance industry panel which included Ms. Helen Wong, Chief
Executive of HSBC Greater China, and Mr. Scott Engle, Group Treasurer of
AIA Group, to discuss trade and business flows between the U.S. and Asia,
foreign exchange and hedging, working capital and cash flow strategies and
so on. AmCham South China President Harley Seyedin wrapped up the forum
with a speech introducing the business situation and opportunities in South
China.
AmCham Press Conference at Grandview Mall
On September 12th, AmCham South China President Harley Seyedin,
during a press conference in Guangzhou’s Grandview Mall, announced
the unprecedented strategic alliance of Guangzhou, Auckland and Los
Angeles for the Guangzhou International Shopping Festival 2016, aimed
at synergizing the resources of business, tourism, culture, technology
and entertainment of both cities to the Guangzhou public. This year, the
Festival was held at Grandview Mall and Parc Central, attracting a tre-
mendous number of customers and adding to the festivities during the
China National Day holiday.
Boao Youth Summit
On September 23rd, the Boao Summit for World Youth Growth 2016 kicked
off at Orient Wende Plaza, in which AmCham representatives addressed a
speech on education and cultural communication, attended by many pioneers
in the business of education, social science, philanthropy and media. The
Summit advocates the youth’s mission of tradition inheritance, integration
and transcendence, with discussions on global economics, innovative start-
ups and the integration of international education for the young generation.
Luxury Properties Showcase (LPS) Guangzhou
As the benchmark for international property investment, Luxury Properties
Showcase (LPS) hosted a three-day event in end-September at Grand Hyatt
Guangzhou to fuel investment and cooperation between the Chinese and for-
eign real estate industry by offering a proper platform-for global high-end
property projects to Chinese elite buyers and investors, as well as presenting
unique design ideas for luxury residences, fine living and so on.
