Meeting with the Party Secretary of Guangdong Province and
U.S. Chamber of Commerce
On September 12th, Mr. Hu Chunhua, Member of the Politburo of CPC
Central Committee and Party Secretary of CPC Guangdong Committee, met
with Mr. Myron Brilliant, Executive Vice President & Head of International
Affairs at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, who was accompanied by AmCham
South China President Harley Seyedin, to express warm welcome for their
visit to Guangdong Province. Mr. Hu acknowledged the positive role of the
U.S. Chamber of Commerce in the Sino-US economics while conveying full
support for AmCham in hosting the APCAC next year.
Meeting with Vice Chief of Sichuan Province Guangzhou
Representative Office
In view of the upcoming 16th Western China International Fair to be
held from 3rd to 14th November 2016, Mr. Wang Qiang, Vice Chief of
Sichuan Province Guangzhou Representative Office, visited AmCham
office on August 17th to invite AmCham President Harley Seyedin and
his delegation team to attend the event. Two years ago, the U.S. Pavilion
at the fair was a great success. Mr. Wang emphasized that this year, the
Sichuan government will offer greater support to AmCham in organiz-
ing the U.S. Pavilion once again.
AmCham Welcomed Guangzhou Light Industry and Trade
Group’s Visit
On August 15th, AmCham welcomed a visit from Mr. Lin Hu, Vice Presi-
dent of Guangzhou Light Industry and Trade Group. The Group includes
several well-known Guangdong brands and is dedicated to provide the best
household and consumer products with finest quality. During the meeting,
Mr. Lin provided a detailed presentation about the Group and requested for
advice on promoting the Group’s brands to the US market.
Air Energy Industry Forum
The Air Energy Industry Forum was held at Guangdong Hotel on September
13th , attended by the government officials of Guangdong and Longchuan
County, Consul Generals of various countries, representative offices and
associations from the U.S., Italy and Germany. The next day, AmCham repre-
sentatives attended a meeting to encourage investment in Longchuan County,
with an overall introduction to its transport location, preferential policies of
industry development, favorable environment of government affairs and sup-
porting infrastructure.
