AmCham Recognized by The Association of Promotion
for Guangdong Economy & Investment
On August 9th, Mr. Liu Hesheng, Deputy Secretary General of The
Association of Promotion for Guangdong Economy & Investment,
on behalf of the Association, awarded AmCham South China,
as represented by President Harley Seyedin, with a plaque in
recognition of its role as one of the Association’s excellent partners
through the years. Mr. Liu expressed his profound appreciation for
AmCham’s long-standing support to the Association.
Inauguration Ceremony of the 2nd Board of Guang-
zhou Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce
On August 3rd, the Inauguration Ceremony of the 2nd Board of
Guangzhou Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce took place at Sher-
aton Guangzhou Hotel. Mr. Cai Chaolin, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou,
highlighted Tianhe Road’s role as South China’s pioneering business
center. Mr. Xie Meng, re-elected as president of the Chamber, pre-
sented a strategic framework for building a sound business center in
Guangzhou. Around 300 representatives from political and business
circles attended the ceremony.
AmCham President Harley Seyedin Met with Ms. Anna
Chavez from Servcorp
AmCham President Harley Seyedin recently met with Ms. Anna
Chaves, Servcorp’s newly appointed Senior Manager of China Mar-
ket. During the meeting on August 10th, Ms. Chavez talked about
Servcorp, whose primary service is to provide a wide variety of office
space solutions for companies, while AmCham President Harley
Seyedin introduced the Chamber, its member companies and South
China’s growth and development over the years.
The 200th Anniversary Celebration of Argentina Inde-
pendence Day
On July 7th, AmCham President Harley Seyedin and the AmCham
South China team attended the 200th Anniversary of Argen-
tina Independence Day celebrations held at the Canton Club in
Guangzhou. Welcoming them was Consul General Jamie Juan
Goldaracena of the Consulate General of the Argentine Republic in
Guangzhou, who also gave a warm welcome to Ambassador Diego
Ramiro Guelar. Officials from consulates and foreign organizations
in Guangzhou also reveled during the festive celebrations.
