VER STORY

Looking to the future, what are some of the
major initiatives or projects that MTR has
planned to continue to benefit the community?

MTR is now focused on the next exciting phase
of local rail transport development. We are
working on several new railway projects to
support the government’s overall development
strategy, including the Northern Metropolis
Development Strategy. We also look forward to
the new railway projects recommended under
the Strategic Studies on Railways and Major
Roads Beyond 2030. Together, these initiatives
will provide more efficient links between
local communities and create jobs. It will also
strengthen economic ties with neighbouring
cities in the Greater Bay Area and create
opportunities for transit-oriented development
to add more momentum to city’s development.
