med "A Night with Elvis -- A Classic Reappearance", AmCham South China’s
2023 International Spring Ball took place at LN Garden Hotel in Guangzhou on
March 11, 2023. Over 500 guests including a who’s who of South China business
leaders, consuls general, Chinese government officials, and media outlet
representatives, gathered in the grand ballroom, dressed in their finest attire
and ready to enjoy a night of music, dancing, and good food.
The hotel was decorated with classic Las Vegas-style flair, complete with
glittering lights and giant posters of the King of Rock and Roll. The atmosphere
was electric as guests mingled and posed for photos with the two cat ladies who
were on hand to capture the night's best moments. As the evening progressed
with the rhythm of Classic Elvis music, guests enjoyed vibrant cocktails in the
lobby of the LN Garden Hotel. Guests were treated to a delicious reception
featuring Texas BBQ brisket, a nod to Elvis's southern roots. The food was
expertly prepared and served by Brisket Texas BBQ, with many guests returning
for seconds and thirds. The guests then went through the rolling tunnel to find
themselves in the ballroom.
After the opening dance, the Spring Ball started right on schedule as the
clock struck 8:00 pm with the ball eventually opened with two classic songs
presented by our old friend -- Mr. Philip Chan! He was the emcee of the night
and brought laughter to all the guests present. In the meantime, we were
fortunate to have another good friend with us, Mr. Billy Chan. He performed a
famous song c’mon Every Body. And to the applause of everyone, he gave an
encore for the audience.
Last but not least, two grand lucky draw rounds gave away over the one-million-
yuan worth of round-trip international air tickets, hotel presidential suites, fine
wine and dine, luxury watches, high-quality home appliances, and many more
prizes to the crowd. Once the entertainment program began, the fascinating live
performance of the rock band led our guests to keep the dance floor packed well
into the wee hours of the morning. Guests danced the night away, their energy
and enthusiasm never flagging.
The night was declared the best event in three years, and for good reason. After
the long period of wearing masks and being unable to gather in large groups,
guests were thrilled to finally have the opportunity to let loose and enjoy
themselves. The event was a resounding success, and guests left feeling happy
and rejuvenated after a much-needed night of fun and festivities.
All in all, the 2023 International Spring Ball was a huge success, thanks to the
hard work of the organizers, the beautiful setting of the Garden Hotel, and the
incredible spirit and enthusiasm of the guests. Here's to another unforgettable
