ham South China and Dongguan Harbor Plaza Golf Club holded an International
Golf Tournament and Texas BBQ Networking Dinner on January 21. This relaxing
event, as in the past, attracted hundreds of people including several Consuls General
from Consulates General in Guangzhou.
With a format of “Texas Scramble” 120 players teed off simultaneously at 12:30 p.m.
Some of the golfers, however, arrived just before tee time on their flying putters. Each
foursome was engrossed in the competition with each player using their best skills to
help their team. While focused on healthy competition, they also enjoyed the happy and
relaxing moments of the event.
The hope of winning the prize of RMB10,000 for a hole-in-one created great excitement.
The prize was offered on a par three with an enlarged hole of 39.1 cm. It was a pity that
no players had a Hole-In-One.
Nevertheless, there was still some good news. The winner of Men’s Nearest to the Pin was
Mr. Mauro Nardone and the winner of Men’s Longest Drive was Mr. John Stembridge.
The winner of Ladies Nearest to the Pin was Ms. Tiffany Yau and the winner of Ladies'
Longest Drive was Ms. Huang Shiling. The Champions were Mr. Lincoln Ying, Mr. Sam
Jia, Mr. Huang Kuibin, and Mr. Austin Xiao. The winners of 2nd place were Mr. John
Stembridge, Mr. Justin Trayl McCloud, Mr. Benjamin Davis Terry, and Mr. Christophe
Marcel Georges Vanenbrouck. And the winners of 3rd place were Mr. He Wenguang, Ms.
