The Art of Raffaello
The extraordinary exhibition “The Art of Raffaello: Opera Omnia” opened at the Guangzhou Public
Library on March 11 and will continue till April 25, 2021. The exhibition, designed by Rai.Com,
displays the reproductions in high definition and life size of 36 works by the great Renaissance master
Raffaello Sanzio. It brings to Guangzhou a once in a life time opportunity to immerse oneself in grand
Italian culture.
2020 marked the 500-year anniversary of death of Raffaello (1483—1520). The Italian Foreign Ministry
held a series of commemorative events worldwide. One of the most important events, the exhibition
Raffaello Opera Omnia is still on a World Tour.
Coming from Chengdu and Beijing, Raffaello Opera Omnia is now in Guangzhou. The works selected
for the exhibition follow the artistic path of the master in the different phases of his evolution. At
the opening ceremony, Italian Consul General to Guangzhou Ms. Lucia Pasqualini offered thanks
to the Guangzhou Public Library, in particular to Director Fang, for the great cooperation and the
extraordinary work and activities organized by his team. She said “While waiting for travelling back to
Italy, we brought Italy to Guangzhou.”
