2016 Annual Meeting of APCAC
The 2016 Annual Meeting of the Asia Pacific Council of American
Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) was hosted by the American
Chamber of Commerce in China in Beijing from April 14th-15th.
29 American chambers of commerce from around the region
attended the meeting. Dr. Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham
South China joined leaders of the 29 AmChams and more than
300 business, policy, diplomatic, government and media leaders
for the two days of activities.
2016 Annual Meeting of CCPIT Guangzhou
On March 7, AmCham President Harley Seyedin attended
the 2016 Annual Meeting of CCPIT (China Council for the
Promotion of International Trade) Guangzhou at Canton Hotel.
At the meeting, Vice Mayor of Guangzhou, leaders from CCPIT
Guangdong, presidents of commercial organizations, and
decision-makers of trade promotion organizations from Hong
Kong and Macau reviewed the business promotion programs
in the 2015. During the meeting, Harley delivered a speech on
the state of business in South China. This high profile meeting
presented a perfect opportunity for the attendants to further
enhance cooperation and friendship.
Meeting with Leaders of Guangdong
Department of Commerce
On March 9, AmCham President Harley Seyedin and AmCham
corporate members were well received by Vice Director General
of Guangdong Department of Commerce Mr. Chen Yuehua and
his team, for a meeting in his Department office. Both sides
had an in-depth discussion on the upcoming May meeting on
commercial exchange program hosted in Detroit, Boston, and
New York. Harley stated his support for the cooperation event
due to be held in the U.S. and showed full confidence in its
outcome.
Oakwood Jazz Night
On March 10, representatives of AmCham South China were
invited to join the Oakwood Jazz Night. Guests of the party
included representatives of foreign organizations in Guangzhou,
business elites, and media friends. The soft music jazzed up the
events. All the guests enjoyed the wonderful music, delicious
food, and alluring lucky draw.
