Celebration of National Day of the State of Qatar
On December 14, Qatar’s Consulate General in Guangzhou
held a reception at The Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate the
National Day of the State of Qatar. Representatives of AmCham
South China joined the festivities together with local officials
and representatives of foreign organizations in Guangzhou.
The Consulate General of Qatar, who was appointed in 2015,
supervises the consular districts of Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian,
and Hainan.
Focus on Nansha Free Trade Zone
On December 22, AmCham President Harley Seyedin attended
a forum at Baiyun International Conference Center, The forum
addressed the latest development of the Nansha Free Trade
Zone Guangzhou. The event attracted more than two hundred
guests, among them local government officials, and a host of
domestic and international industrial experts. At the forum,
the participants also engaged in an in-depth discussion about
Nansha’s New Zone’s potential development plans.
Opening Ceremony of Park Hyatt Guangzhou
On December 30, AmCham President Harley Seyedin was invited
to join the opening ceremony of Park Hyatt Guangzhou. This
venue is situated on the 53th floor of the R&F Ying Kai Plaza of
Zhujiang New Town. Designed for the discerning traveler, the
hotel is a welcoming private residence with modern amenities in
the new heart of Guangzhou.
Meeting with President of One Belt One Road
Alliance of International Commercial Chambers
On January 4, Mr. Zhengying Xun, president of One Belt
One Road Alliance of International Commercial Chambers
(AICC) and his team, reinforced by Ms. Mary Qu of Guangzhou
Municipal Commission of Commerce, were warmly welcomed by
AmCham’s professional staff. After having stated their mission
and given an update on the current development of AICC,
president Xun invited AmCham South China to join AICC as a
founding member.
