On July 13, AmCham President Harley Seyedin met with Mr. 37
Eric Lee, Deputy Director of The Economic and Technological
Promotion Bureau of Nanhai District, Foshan City, and The
Bureau of Foreign and Economic Cooperation of Nanhai District,
Foshan City. At the meeting, President Harley and Mr. Lee both
gave introductions of the Chamber and the Bureau respectively.
Both parties also discussed the current development of Nanhai
District and future opportunities for cooperation between the two.
APEC Travel Card and Port Visa Application
Training
On July 15, a training event regarding APEC Travel Card and port
visa application was held at Guangzhou Municipal Commission of
Commerce. The training topics encompassed a brief introduction to
the APEC Travel Card, the issuing department in charge, requirements
for card applicants, as well as application procedures and other
related issues. The detailed guidance provided was generally received
as extremely useful by the AmCham members present.
Vienna Concert and Soft Launch Party of
Canton International House
On July 19, AmCham President Harley Seyedin was invited to the
Vienna Concert and Soft Launch Party of Canton International
House. The event was held at Sing Ping Exhibition Hall, Canton
International House. At the concert and party musicians from
Vienna, Austria and the Junior Orchestra of Children’s Palace of
Guangzhou and Foshan skillfully performed at what became a
wonderful evening of music and entertainment.
White Swan Hotel Reopening Ceremony
On July 14, AmCham South China representatives were invited
to join the reopening ceremony of White Swan Hotel. First
opened in 1983, The White Swan, was and still is one of the most
recognized five star luxury hotels in China. The hotel situated on
historic Shamian Island overlooks the majestic Pearl River. The
White Swan is an oasis of tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of
the city. After years of extensive renovation the works are finally
completed. The hotel now features 520 luxurious rooms and suites
and covers over 2500 square meters of well appointed meeting
and conference space.
