Meeting leaders with CCPIT Guangdong
On July 13, AmCham President Harley Seyedin met with Mr. Luo
Bingzhi, Vice President with China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong)
and Guangdong Chamber of International Commerce. The
meeting took place at the AmCham Tower. During this meeting
President Harley gave Mr. Luo a brief introduction to the Special
Report on the State of Business in South China. The report was
published earlier this year by AmCham South China.
Meeting leaders with Guangzhou Aerotropolis
Development District
On July 24, AmCham President Harley Seyedin met with Mr. Sun
Xiuqing, Party Secretary and Director of Guangzhou Aerotropolis
Development District (GADD) Management Committee and
his team. At the meeting, Harley briefed Director Sun about the
Chamber and its members. Director Sun on his part gave an
introduction on GADD’s concept of development, positioning,
advantages etc. The two parties also had an in-depth discussion
about future cooperation with regard to the promotion of GADD.
Opening Ceremony of “A Photographic
Exhibition by Her Royal Highness Princess
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn”
On July 10, AmCham President Harley Seyedin was invited by
the Thai Consulate General to attend the Opening Ceremony of
“A Photographic Exhibition by Her Royal Highness Princess
Maha Chakri Sirindhorn”. The photo exhibition was held in
commemoration of the 60th Birthday Anniversary of HRH
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. The ceremony took
place in the Guangdong Museum and was attended by guests from
both the local and the foreign communities.
French National Day Reception
On July 14, President Harley Seyedin was invited to join a reception
in celebration of the French National Day as traditionally hosted
by the Consulate General of the French Republic in Guangzhou.
The reception was held at the Sofitel Sunrich Hotel, Guangzhou.
The celebration was attended by foreign diplomats as well as local
community leaders. Later that evening a pool-side party organized
by the French Chamber of Commerce in Guangzhou was held at
the China hotel (aka Marriot hotel).
