The 22nd CIFIT Promotion Symposium in Guangzhou
July
On the afternoon of July 20, the China International Fair for
Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held the 22nd CIFIT promotion
symposium in Guangzhou. Nearly 50 representatives from
Consulates General in Guangzhou, governmental agencies and
business organizations attended. AmCham South China President
Dr. Harley Seyedin was invited to deliver his view of AmCham’s
over 2,300 members. He pointed out that for the past 18 years,
AmCham South China’s delegation has been the largest business
delegation to CIFIT and has averaged USD 2 billion in deals
culminated at CIFIT. CIFIT is the epitome of China’s high-quality
opening up efforts and a reflection of Xiamen’s determination
to create a world-class business environment of rule of law,
internationalization and facilitation. Dr. Harley said, “I have every
reason to believe that this year’s delegation will be no different
however difficult and challenging due to the pandemic. We would
never miss an opportunity to attend CIFIT. And we appreciate
being a part of it this year.”

Guangzhou international media port. Dr. Harley Seyedin,
President of AmCham South China, who has been
working and living in Guangzhou for nearly 30 years, was
also invited to the meeting and shared his stories. Dr.
Harley has witnessed the miracle that small towns in the
Great Bay area had successively risen into international
metropolises. He attributes the "secret" of the Great
Bay Area's success to the investment in education, the
improvement of the ecological environment and the
business environment. He frankly said, "In the future,
the business opportunities will be in the Great Bay area.
We expect that by 2030, this area will be transformed
into a high-end manufacturing highland in the world.”
