Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership
May Media & Think Tank Forum
Under the theme of “Working together for
common development,” this year’s RCEP
(Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership)
Media & Think Tank Forum was held on May 29
in an online and offline merged format. More
than 300 institutional representatives attended
the meeting including media and think tank
representatives from around the world as well
as representatives of international organizations
such as the China-ASEAN Center, the American
Chamber of Commerce in South China, and other
institutions. AmCham South China President Dr.
Harley Seyedin was invited to deliver his view
of AmCham’s over 2,300 members and pointed
out that the RCEP holds great significance for
the region and for China. The agreement creates
a favorable environment to accelerate global
development and helps build an open economy.
It will create a unified set of trade rules for
the Asia-Pacific region to replace the multiple
‘ASEAN-plus-one’ trade deals.
30 Meeting with Mr. Bai MingShao from CCPIT Guangdong
May
AmCham President Dr. Harley Seyedin
met with Mr. Bai MingShao from
China Council for the Promotion of
International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong,
on May 30. Mr. Bai first gave a brief
introduction of CCPIT as well as its
latest policies and projects. Dr. Harley
Seyedin expressed his willingness for
further cooperation and gave a brief
explanation of the 2022 Special Report
on the State of Business in South China.
31 Meeting with Mr.Chen Shangjun from Guangzhou
May Aerotropolis Development District Administration
Mr.Chen Shangjun, the Deputy Director of
Guangzhou Aerotropolis Development
District Administration, paid a visit to AmCham
South China President Dr. Harley Seyedin
on May 17. During the meeting, Mr. Chen
Shangjun introduced the latest policies of
Guangzhou Aerotropolis Development District
and express their willingness for long-time
cooperation. Dr. Harley Seyedin expressed
his sincere wishes for future cooperation and
briefly introduced AmCham South China’s
recent events and explained the 2022 Special
Report on the State of Business in South China
by concentrating on the reinvestment section.
