COVID-19 Prevention and Control
The Information Office of the Guangzhou Government invited AmCham South China President Harley Seyedin
to speak at the news briefing on expat and international epidemic prevention and control. Deputy Minister of the
Propaganda Department of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee officiated the conference. Deputy Director
of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Municipal Party Committee Deng Changxiong, Deputy Director of Guangzhou
CPIT Liu Zewu, Vice President of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies Jiao Fangtai, Deputy Head of Exit-Entry
Management Department of Guangzhou Public Security Bureau Chen Wenhong attended the meeting. Dr. Seyedin
reported that there had not been any reports of infection from any AmCham member. With full support of all of
the above agencies, all our companies are now operational and increasing capacity every day. AmCham has been
cooperating with Guangdong FAO to solve all difficulties faced by our companies. “I am certain that by continuing to
work together, we will beat the virus and all the difficulties created by it," Dr. Seyedin said.
AmCham Donates 50,000 Masks and 600 Sanitizers to Underprivileged People in
Houjie, Dongguan
Invited by Secretary of the Houjie Party
Committee Liu Xuecong and Mayor
of Houjie Ye Keyang, AmCham South
China President Harley Seyedin attended
the donation ceremony. Dr. Seyedin
remarked that he had been making
investment in Dongguan for 26 years and
has been working in cooperation with local
government to promote the economy. Liu
expressed his gratitude for AmCham’s
generosity and his hope for better
cooperation especially amid the COVID-19
pandemic. All goods donated were paid for
by President Harley on behalf of AmCham.
