We urge members to work together and provide all-out support for catastrophic earthquake in Northeast Japan—it is our obligation as fellow humans

To ensure the quickest possible response, we encourage members to give directly to trustworthy charitable organizations

Dear Members, 

As you are undoubtedly aware, a 9.0-magnitude catastrophic earthquake (from an earlier measurement of 8.8-magnitude) struck Northeast Japan on March 11. The quake itself was the biggest to hit Japan since record-keeping began in the late 1800s and was one of the biggest ever recorded in the world. Also the ensuing tsunami and hydrogen explosion have caused 2,414 of casualties and 3,118 unaccounted for as of March 15^th Xinhua New Agency.  

As we have with previous disasters on the Mainland, we are encouraging friends and members to aid rescue attempts and provide materiel relief by donating funds and supplies directly to qualified charitable organizations, particularly those with whom you have worked in the past.
