Steven Cheng - Amway (China) Co., Ltd. ______________________ _______ ____Back to Top Prior AmCham Service: Served as Governor 2003 - 2005 and as Vice President 2006-Present
I have been serving as Vice President of AmCham in South China since 2006, before that as Governor from 2003, and have always been an active member in supporting a wide array of events organized by AmCham in South China. Currently, I am the Vice President of Finance of Amway Greater China. I have been working and living in Guangzhou for 13 years to have profound sentiment towards the city. As an AmCham member, we pride ourselves in not only fast and sustainable development but good corporate citizenship. To date, we have 57,000 Amway volunteers participating in 6,000 philanthropic activities, contributing over 1,000,000 volunteer hours. Our footprints of love and social accountability can be found from Michigan in the US all the way to the Great Wall in China.
It is an honor for me to be on the Board of Governors from 2003 to 2005 and serve as the Vice President from 2006 to 2010. With my background in Finance and my experience of doing business in China, particularly my passion to provide opinions and services to all the member companies, I sincerely seek your vote for re-election as Vice President in 2011 to continue working on our common interest.

|
Simon Foo, graduate of University of Dalhousie, Canada, has been in insurance business for over 20 years and is currently General Manager of Chartis Insurance Company China Limited Guangdong Branch (Part of AIG) being responsible for Guangdong (Excl SZ) operation. Simon is a fellow of Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. Prior to his relocation to China in 2003 as General Manager of AIU Insurance Company Shenzhen Branch, he worked in various AIU offices in the region including Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia. He is now also Vice President of Guangdong Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, and Executive Director of Guangdong Insurance Association, as well as Governor of The American Chamber of Commerce in South China. His social and networking skills have enabled him to establish a cordial relationship with varied resources.
Shenzhen is the first city in China I started my career in this promise land prior to my allocation to Guangdong Branch in 2005. During my 15 years of overseas posting I realized the importance of a trade association for an enterprise or individual alike regardless of the size of the company and the position of that person. Association or chamber is a vital unprofitable organization for all traders particularly the foreign businessmen to meet, discuss, share and socialize. In order to build a platform for members to interact, its solid foundation is a prerequisite.
During my first few months in Shenzhen in 2003, I am lucky to be nominated as the Membership Chair by Amcham President, Mr. Harley Seyedin, based in Shenzhen to recruit member and represent the “chapter “in Shenzhen. At the same time to provide the necessary services to the members. Since 2005, subsequent to my transferred to AIU Guangzhou Branch (now called Chartis Insurance Company China Limited Guangdong Branch), I has been elected to the Board. Your kind support and trust has enabled me to work with other governors members to deliver our services to the Chamber.
As a service provider in the business world, providing excellent services is part of our life. I hope to continue to extend that role in Amcham if I am elected as a Governor again in 2011 Office. Given my experience and enthusiasm I believe I can continue to contribute to the Board of Amcham and the most important of all, to the members. I wish to continue receiving your support to enable me to render my services to you and the Chamber in 2011.
Thanking in advance for your support and best wishes to you and your family.
