2009 Election of AmCham South China Officers and Governors
DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS:
NOVEMBER 13th, 2009
Fellow Members,
I am pleased to report the opportunity to serve the Chamber in my appointed position of Chairman of the Nominating Committee. I am hereby putting the nomination process in motion.
I am also very pleased to announce that Ernst and Young has agreed to act as the Official Auditor of our 2009 Election.
The Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China consists of four officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer) and five Governors. According to the Chamber Bylaws, members of the Board are elected by vote of the body of voting members of our Chamber, and will serve a term of one year.
Please note that the President must be a citizen of the United States and must previously have served as a member of the Board of Governors or on at least one Chamber Committee. The Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Governors need not be a United States Citizen if he or she is a Corporate Member representative of a U.S. company.
If you are a qualified voting Member of the Chamber and would like to run, or nominate someone to run, in competitive election against other candidates for any of these positions, please notify me by email no later than November 13th, 2009 at electionchairman@amcham-southchina.org.
Please indicate the position for which you are nominating yourself or another person. Please note that you may not nominate yourself or anyone else for multiple positions, although you may nominate multiple individuals for any given position, so please indicate the exact position you are nominating yourself or someone else to run for. Finally, individuals may only run for one position per election.
Schedule
The Nominating Committee will send a brief introduction of each qualified candidate to the entire membership by email on November 18th so that members will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with each candidate.
The Nominating Committee must submit its report to the Board of Governors by November 20th. Ballots listing the names and qualifications of each candidate (and pictures if available) will be sent to all voting members before November 21, 2009. The final vote count will be handled by Ernst and Young at the Annual General Meeting on December 9th, 2009.
