2007 Zhuhai-Macau Investment Environment Promotion and Trade Fair

Organized by Zhuhai Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, Investment Promotion Agency of Ministry of Commerce, Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and Zhuhai People’s Municipal Government, the 2007 Zhuhai-Macau Investment Environment Promotion and Trade Fair was held on 28 May, 2007. The American Chamber of Commerce in South China was invited as one of the most significant foreign business communities to participate in this fair. Mr. Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham South China led a delegation of nearly 150 American companies to Zhuhai to attend this event.

The main focus of the Zhuhai-Macau Investment Environment Promotion and Trade Fair was on the promotion of the service, IT, port logistics and heavy chemical industries. This event was designed to provide our delegates with vital investment information regarding the region and to serve as a unique opportunity for members to access key Zhuhai and Macau government representatives. It provided a friendly and fertile environment to network with government as well as an international collection of potential partners and investors.

The morning section of the fair was the 2007 Zhuhai-Macao Seminar on Investment Promotion and Trade Exchange. Nine honorable guest-speakers from different economic and investment sectors delivered speeches on different aspects towards to economic development and investment in Zhuhai and Macau. President Harley Seyedin made a presentation on the topic of “Zhuhai and Macau – The Best Investment Areas for American Business”.

“I am proud and pleased to say that Zhuhai and Macau that the business environment for American investment in Zhuhai and Macau is excellent and that Zhuhai and Macau are amongst the top and the best in the world and of course in China.” said Harley, “American companies have invested billions of U.S. dollars in these two great locations and each of our companies reports having achieved profitability in a very short time and a very large number have reported profitability beyond their expectations.”

The afternoon section was separated to be industrial promotion workshops: Zhuhai-Macau Service Industry and Exhibition Industry, Zhuhai-Macau Cross Border Industrial Zone, IT Industry and Port Logistic and Heavy Chemical Industries and Manufacturing Industry. AmCham member delegates attended these workshops and got important investment information. Some of them even attended more than two workshops in order to meet more people and find future investment opportunities.
