AmCham South China Visiting Fujian Province

Fujian Province, as an important province lying in the southeast coast of China, is implementing “The Strategy of Building an Economic Zone on the Western Coast of the Taiwan Straits”. This strategy has been included in the 11th-Five-Year-Plan of the Central Government. As a result, the Central Government is going to authorize Fujian Province with more preferential policies, which provides greater business opportunities for foreign investment. In order to let foreign enterprises and business communities learn more about the investment environment of Fujian Province as well as better understand the Strategy of Building an Economic Zone on the western coast of the Taiwan Straits, The Foreign Affairs Office of Fujian Province organized a 5-day trip, including the 5th Fujian Technology and Projects Fair and Seminar on Multi-national Corporations.

The Fujian Technology and Projects Fair (FTPF), sponsored by Fujian Provincial People’s Government, acts as a perfect forum for high-tech exchanges, with a view of accelerating the step of opening-up, promoting links of projects with technology, capital, and talents, encouraging intra-provincial enterprises and investors to work with universities at home and abroad, scientific research institutes, financial institutions, and specialized human resources. The FTPF is an exciting platform to maximize company’s exposure in Fujian and an important convention providing both domestic and overseas investors and project developers an unrivalled opportunity to meet under one roof. During this year’s fair, Macau SAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah, Minister of Construction Department Wang Guangtao, Governor of Fujian Province Huang Xiaojing, Vice-Governors of Fujian Province Wang Meixiang and Li Chuan attended the opening ceremony and welcome banquet.

As one of the most important foreign business communities all over China, The American Chamber of Commerce in South China was invited to participate in this fair, and President Harley Seyedin delivered a speech on the Seminar on Multi-national Corporations. On the seminar, leaders from various departments of Fujian Province introduced the investment environment, key cooperating projects, and preferential policies for investors.
