AmChan Canton Fair Seminar on Energy and Environmental Protection in China

On April 16, 2008—second day of the 103^rd China Export and Import Commodities Fair—AmCham South China organized the seminar on Energy and Environmental Protection in China, cooperating with the China Foreign Trade Centre (Canton Fair).

It is the only Canton Fair promotional seminar hosted for this session, and it attracted nearly 100 AmCham members as well as exhibitor and visitor participating in the fair coming to attend this event.

Three top-ranking experts in energy and environmental protection industry made brilliant presentations, including Mr. Eric Wang (General Manager, Guangzhou GISE-MBA New Plastics Technology Co., Ltd) on Engineering Plastic Recycling in China, Mr. Thomas Schneider (President and CEO, Guangzhou Tantec Leather Ltd.) on LITE (Low Impact To Environment), and Mr. Runchao Mao, (Chief Representative South Region, GE (China) Co., Ltd) on GE's Strategy developed on Energy & Environmental Protection.

Audiences were quite interested in such new technologies and strategies towards to the energy and environment, and it is extremely worthy in such key moment to the transferring and restructuring industries and economic system in south China region. Many of the guests to the Canton Fair, especially exhibitors, were searching new opportunities for future development; this in-time seminar provided some fresh ideas to the energy and environment field.

Just like President Harley Seyedin mentioned at the end of the seminar, “rational using the natural resources, comprehensively protect the environment and developing new energy, it is our future business opportunity and corporate social responsibility to our community!”
