AmCham Participated in Charity Walk-a-Thon

The U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou held a Charity Walk-a-Thon around Shamian Island on June 22, 2008. With the purpose of raising funds for those people affected by the devastating Sichuan earthquake, the donations were given to Half-the-Sky, Habitat-for-Humanity and China Charity Federation. U.S. Consul General Robert Goldberg expressed his deeply thanks to all the participants and generous donors to this event. All participates wore their “Jia You” t-shirt for the walk, Consul General and his wife, as well as other officers of the Consulate General, also worked in support of this charitable activity for the earthquake victims.

Our AmCham members, staffs and their families warmly support this event as well. More than 300 people bought the “Jia You” t-shirt and majority of them attended on that day. Sincerely hope our participation will help the people in affective area rebuild their homes.
