On July 23, AmCham South China and the Shenzhen Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau hosted more than 40 HR leaders from AmCham member companies for a candid and informed roundtable discussion on the New Labor Law. Held at the Shenzhen Shangri-La hotel, this was the first, and only, event in Shenzhen to bring together companies and the government officers whose duty it is to implement the law.

Director Qin Xiaonan, Vice Director Zhang Xiuzhi and Mr. Feng Li of the Labor Relations Division of Shenzhen Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau, in addition to senior Human Resources managers from top companies, discussed diverse topics, with particular attention paid to the termination of contracts, compensation and open-term contracts.

This event followed a similar roundtable held in Guangzhou, and with the leaders of the Guangzhou Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau. Both have been exceptionally successful, and the leadership of both municipalities have pledged to follow up on these preliminary discussions in the near future.
