12 University of Chicago
Mar Delegation Visits
AmCham South China

On March 12th, a visiting delegation from the
University of Chicago visited the AmCham
South China. Erwin Paderanga and Jackson Lehman,
teachers of the Student Career Development
Department at the University of Chicago, led 20
students from multiple disciplines such as computer
science and economics, and then visited the
Chamber’s office and shared their experiences. Dr.
Harley Seyedin, President of the AmCham South
China, welcomed and thanked the visiting delegation
from the University of Chicago. During the meeting,
Dr. Harley Seyedin introduced the AmCham South
China’s latest research, the 2024 Special Report on
the State of the Business in South China. Students
from the University of Chicago expressed strong
interest in the report. After Dr. Seyedin’s presentation,
the students had a lively discussion around the
development of China's economy and globalization.

On the evening of March 20th, the Dongguan 20 2024 Dongguan Foreign
Foreign Investment Enterprise Association Mar Investment Enterprise
held the 2024 Spring Tea Party at the Dongguan
Guesthouse. Representatives from the South China Association Spring Tea Party
American Chamber of Commerce were invited
to attend the event. Foreign
businessmen gathered
together, shared experiences,
and jointly created business
opportunities. The event
also released an annual
analysis report on the 2023
Business Status of Member
Enterprises of the Municipal
Foreign Trade Association. At
the evening party, Lv Chengxi,
Deputy Secretary of the Dongguan
Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, stated that
Dongguan is a fertile ground for foreign investment
and development. The current external environment
is full of uncertainty, but Dongguan's determination
to expand high-level opening-up to the outside world
is firm, and the city's outward oriented economy is
also accelerating its recovery against the trend.
