AmCham South China - Fangda Parners Seminar on
China's New Data Protection Laws & Impact on Business
AmCham South China joined hands with Fangda Dr. Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham South China
Partners to host a seminar regarding China's Ms. Kate Yin, Partner of Fangda Partners
New Data Protection Laws & Impact on Business Mr. Gil Zhang, Partner of Fangda Partners
on May 19th. More than 50 people attended the
seminar, many of whom were business executives.
Ms. Kate Yin and Mr. Gil Zhang, distinguished
lawyers from Fangda Partners, were invited to share
their expert knowledge.
President of AmCham South China Dr. Harley
Seyedin opened the seminar by delivering a
welcome speech. Ms. Kate Yin first gave an
introduction on recent regulatory and law
enforcement trends. She specializes in Government
Enforcement and Regulatory Compliance at Fangda
Partners. Kate advises leading domestic and
foreign companies in areas such as anti-corruption,
data compliance, sanctions and export control,
which includes government enforcement, crisis
management, compliance system development, and
internal investigations. After a short tea break and
networking, Mr. Gil Zhang then gave an introduction
of the cross-border data transfer, data localization
and relevant Chinese laws, regulations and judicial
interpretations regarding China’s data security.
Mr. Zhang’s practice focuses on data protection,
cyber security, and regulatory compliance. He has
extensive experience in data protection and cyber
security issues, proving himself more than worthy in
assisting clients in responding to law enforcement
and privacy litigations in China and various other
contentious matters.
