New Town
in Town
Located between Hongmei Town, Wangniudun Town and Daojiao Town,
Dongguan Shuixiang New Town lies in the core of Shuixiang Economic
Development Zone (the Zone). Covering an area of 14.5 square kilometers in
total (amounts to 21,813 mu), Shuixiang New Town plans to accommodate
160,000 people. It can be regarded as an indispensable economic
development platform in Guangdong Province. Located in the northwest of
Dongguan, Shuixiang Economic Development Zone covers a total area of 510
square kilometers and the permanent inhabitants reach up to 1,600,000. In
2017, Shuixiang New Town’s gross regional product increased its year-on-year
segment volumes by 9.4%, achieving 123.6 billion yuan.
As a driving engine in the Zone, Shuixiang New Town, densely covered
with rivers and lakes, is an important ecological area in the Pearl River Delta.
Meanwhile, it boasts a convenient traffic network, where three important
traffic lines meet here, including Guangzhou-Dongguan-Shenzhen Intercity
Rail, Foshan-Dongguan-Huizhou Intercity Rail and Dongguan Transit R1,
thus making it a key traffic hub in the Pearl River Delta. People can easily
get to the downtown area, the airport, and high-speed railway station of
these cities. What’s more, places in the central part of China, the Greater
Southwest and coastal areas in the Southeast China are also within a
convenient traffic distance. It will only take 10 minutes and 20 minutes
to the entrance of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway or Guangzhou-
Shenzhen Yanjiang Expressway and Humen Port, a National First-level
Port, respectively. Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and Shenzhen
Bao’an Airport can be reached in less than 50 minutes. It enjoys convenient
transportation with modern railway, expressway, sea transportation, and
