$In an ever-changing business environment, how do
companies achieve success while others flounder?
Successful companies have a strategy that is based
on accurate information from both internal and
external sources, matching their exclusive strengths
to the best opportunities available. However, a good
strategy is never enough. Companies need to convert
the overall strategy into action. That is where a strong
understanding of budgeting comes in handy.

At the 2017 Finance Management Forum, Alex C. Eng,
Chair of the Institute of Management Accountants
(see left), shared with AmCham South China the
latest insights on strategic planning, budgeting and
forecasting. Another honorable guest was Edouard
Mac Nab, newly-elected Governor of AmCham South
China and VP Finance of Mead Johnson (see right),
unlocked some recent practices on budgeting with the
recent acquisition by Reckitt Benckiser (RB). Attendees
left the room with a better knowledge of how a
successful strategy and budget can be implemented
into day-to-day operations and drive the companies
with a strong and compelling vision into the future.■
