Meeting leaders of Guangzhou Pilot Free
Trade Zone
On October 19, AmCham President Harley Seyedin met with Mr.
Chen Guangjun, Deputy Director General of General Affairs Office
of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone. After Mr. Chen
briefed an introduction on the current development of the Free
Trade Zone, Mr. Seyedin expressed great interest into this project.
Both parties had an in-depth discussion about future cooperation
regarding the promotion of China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade
Zone.
Celebration of the 800th anniversary of the
signing of the Magna Carta
On October 20, AmCham President Harley Seyedin was invited
by Mr. Charles Bennett, the U.S. Consul General in Guangzhou to
participate in a reception in celebration of the 800th anniversary
of the signing of the Magna Carta and its exhibition in Guangzhou.
This event was held at the exhibition hall in the U.S. Consulate
in Guangzhou in partnership with the U.K. Consulate to mark
the anniversary of sealing the celebrated legal text, Hereford
Cathedral’s Magna Carta which also inspired the development of
political and legal philosophy of the United States.
Visit to Best Education Shunde
On October 26, AmCham President Harley Seyedin visited Best
Education in Shunde. They were accompanied by Sun Zhiheng,
President of the Ronggui Chamber of Commerce. After visiting five
different schools of Best Education, President Harley spoke highly
of Guangdong Best Education Group and expressed his confidence
in investing international education in Shunde.

Municipal Commission of Commerce
On October 27, Ms. Aileen Xu, Director of International Affairs
Department, Guangzhou Municipal Commission of Commerce
and her team were warmly welcomed by AmCham President
Harley Seyedin at AmCham Tower. At the meeting Ms. Xu and her
team introduced current development of their organization and
their cooperation program. Both sides expect to continue in-depth
cooperation in the future.
