This year’s survey indicated that only around one-tenth of all respondents claimed that they
had not yet made a profit in China. For those companies that have made profits in China,
the breakdown of their profitability is similar to that of previous year. However, it is worth men-
tioning that the number of surveyed enterprises that have made profits in China while meeting
or significantly exceeding budget expectations rose about 10%. For those companies that have
not yet made profits in China, their expected time to realize profits in China is anticipated to be
shorter than the previous year. In addition, more than 20% of respondents claimed they were
expecting to make a profit by the end of 2017, up 15% over the same period in 2016. This might
reflect a rebound in China’s overall economy.
