In addition, as many as 70% of the respondents declared that their reinvestment
quota in China in 2017 increased compared with that of 2016. Only about 10% of the
surveyed respondents indicated that they experienced a reduction in their reinvestment.
Nevertheless, it is clear that most reinvestments in 2017 exceeded amounts that were
budgeted at the beginning of that year.

Changes of Reinvestment in China in 2017 Compared to 2016

The primary areas of their reinvestment in China in 2017 were marketing, sales
and business development, staff training, and research and development.
Relatively few respondents reinvested in areas such as administration and compliance,
environmental compliance, logistics and transportation networks.
