So far, China has signed 14 free trade agreements (FTA) with 22 countries and regions. By means of tariff concession, the parties of FTA will cancel the trade barriers, offer more trade opportunities and promote the joint development of regional economy. Certificate of Origin is a legal document certifying the production or manufacturing place of a product. It is a “passport” for a product to land the international trade market. Exports with certificates of origin issued by China’s competent authorities can enjoy tariff reduction or exemption at the customs of the importing countries. In 2014, Guangzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau issued 173,000 certificates of origin, saving tariff of about $250 million for exports.

In order to help your company to better understand China’s implementation situation of FTAs and the application procedures for certificate of origin, Guangzhou Municipal Governmental Affairs Management Office, Guangzhou Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and Invest Guangzhou have determined to jointly hold “Service Express: Promotion of Inspection and Quarantine Policies” for Guangzhou-based foreign businesses on August 27, 2015 (Thursday) at China Inspection and Quarantine Mansion.
