Agenda:

I am pleased to invite you all to a meaningful event hosted by GDFAO and Guangdong Disabled Persons’ Federation on Dec 8^th, aiming to help children with hearing loss in Guangdong Province.

According to a survey, there are over 173,300 kids of disability aged from 0 to 6 are in Guangdong, accounting for 12% of the national total. The figure keeps increasing by 16,500 each year. Unfortunately, less than 35% of these disabled kids have received rehabilitation education while others have no access to any kind of treatment or recovery services.

In 2010, Guangdong Disabled People Rehabilitation Center Launched "Kids with hearing loss Listening & Speaking Rehabilitation Program". Two years of practice proves that the program has significantly enhanced the professional techniques for rehabilitation of kids with hearing loss and improved the effectiveness of treatment. However, to help more kids with hearing loss, particularly those from poor families and in rural area, more efforts are needed in adding the channels of raising money to benefit more kids with hearing loss in Guangdong.

All income received through "Guangdong International Charity Sale 2012" will be used to renovate and equip "Listening & Speaking Rehabilitation Classroom". Upon completion, this classroom will be named as "Classroom of Love from Consular Corps in Guangzhou"
