Vote in the U.S. General Election

-Be an absentee voter, not an absentee citizen!

AmCham will host an all-day party to celebrate the 2012 U.S. Presidential Election on November 7th (Beijing Time)-Mark Your Calendar!!

  • Register to Vote and request absentee ballots before the Election Day-November 6th (US Time)
  • The forms can be download from www.FVAP.gov

The Nov. 6 general election is an important one, and voter-registration deadlines are approaching fast.

Overseas citizens who are 18 years or older are eligible to vote absentee and can request their ballots be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to them.

Registration deadlines differ by state, starting in early October. However, it’s best to register to vote and request absentee ballots well in advance of Election Day.

Everyone who wants to vote should send in a new Federal Post Card Application.

The U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou is also available to answer your questions. Please call 020-8518-7605, e-mail VoteGuangzhou@state.gov, or visit the American Citizen Services Unit from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. or 1 to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
