I’m pleased to invite you to attend the US Consulate Guangzhou’s Earth Day Green Pledges Ceremony and following Air Quality Seminar at the Asia-Pacific International Club Favorview Palace on Sunday, April 22nd – Earth Day.

In 2011, the Earth Day Network launched their A Billion Acts of Green® campaign – the largest environmental service campaign in the world. With hundreds of millions of acts already recorded, the goal is to register one billion green actions in advance of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) happening in Rio de Janeiro in June 2012.  By participating, you will have the opportunity to learn how others are greening their efforts while strengthening cooperation with the local community and can make your own personal contribution by pledging to take on one or more small acts of green.  All pledges made during this event will be tabulated and sent in to the network to include your actions among the one billion.

This event is co-hosted by the Asia-Pacific International Club and will be followed by a clear air conference with speakers from Healthway, Guangzhou Environmental Protection Bureau, the Guangdong Indoors Environment Association and the US Consulate.

See you all there!

With best regards,
