AMCHAM MEMBER PRIORITY

Discuss the indirect tax reforms related issues covering:

·       Indirect tax reforms and latest changes

·       Issues and opportunities

·       Preparation for the reforms

I am pleased to invite you to attend a seminar presented by KPMG on the indirect tax reforms and the potential impact on your business on 22nd Feb in Guangzhou and 23rd Feb in Shenzhen.

With effect from 1 January 2012, a pilot program was launched in Shanghai to replace Business Tax (“BT”) with a Value Added Tax (“VAT”) in the transportation sector and certain “modern services industry”.

While the pilot program is limited to Shanghai and to particular industries only, the implementation and transitional rules are likely to serve as a roadmap to the way the reforms will ultimately be implemented across the whole of China.  Reforms of this magnitude will undoubtedly give rise to many short-term issues and potentially some unintended outcomes for businesses.

I believe you will benefit a lot from the seminar.

See you there!

With best regards,

Harley Seyedin
