I am most pleased to invite you to join a reception in honor of Ambassador Huntsman on April 8 at the Grand Hyatt in Guangzhou.

Ambassador Huntsman’s political career is impressive: in addition to being elected Governor of Utah twice, the Ambassador served Presidents Bush Sr. and Jr. both, first as Ambassador to Singapore and later as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative before working with President Obama on the front lines of this “most important strategic bilateral relationship.” Beyond his political credentials, however, Ambassador Huntsman is a fluent Mandarin speaker and a great family man, with seven children—both things which are highly respected here. He is, unsurprisingly, a uniquely excellent fit for the role of America’s voice in Beijing who demands respect both here and back home.

As such, it was essentially inevitable for Ambassador Huntsman to be named our Chamber’s 2010 “Man of the Year” in recognition of his service to the U.S. business community and our nation as a whole.
