AMCHAM MEMBER PRIORITY

·        How to deal with the changing labor landscape

·        How to handle outbreaks of labor unrest

·        How companies can prepare for collective bargaining

·        Whether and how companies should unionize

The recent outbreak of labor unrest all over China, but particularly in Guangdong province, has made front-page headlines around the world. The question now facing companies is, what should companies now do in the face of a workforce that may become much more aggressive in asserting its rights and making demands for higher wages?

In order to help companies prepare for this challenge, Jonathan Isaacs from Baker & McKenzie has given our Shenzhen members a presentation on dealing with strikes and wage demands recently. In the Guangzhou section, Mr. Isaacs will provide practical guidance for how to deal with the changing labor landscape and address topics of concern to all multli-nationals operating in China.

See you all there!

With best regards,
