Dear Members,

The American Chamber of Commerce, Guangdong is very pleased to announce that we will lead a delegation of our members to attend the 2005 Hong Kong- Guangdong Business Conference to be held in San Francisco on October 14, 2005.  This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to help support the Guangdong Province and the 21 cities participating in addition to sharing the incredible business opportunities that exist in the Pearl River Delta region directly with the American business community.  We urge you to attend and to share this information with your friends, fellow city and state chambers of commerce, industry groups and associations and any others that have an interest in doing business in China. 
 
This one-day conference is expected to bring 500 governmental and business leaders from the Chinese side together with 700-plus participants from the U.S.

Oct. 14th, 2005 (Friday):  HK-GD Business Conference
Activities in the afternoon:
  Guangzhou Promotion Seminar; AmCham Delegation Meets with Guangzhou municipal government leaders
 Delegation Meets with Mayor of Dongguan City
 Delegation meets with Mayor of Zhuhai City

  • Presentation by Mr. Huang Huahua, Governor of Guangdong Province, and a senior official of the HK SAR will deliver keynote speeches respectively.
  • Trade and investment promotion. Guangdong Province will present 150 major projects for business co-operation, ranging from information technology, infrastructure, agriculture, biochemistry to environmental protection and logistics industries, and a series of trade lists.  In addition, trade lists and over 1,000 projects for investment will also be presented by individual cities. 
  • Contract signing ceremony for major projects.  
  • Industry-specific meeting sessions and investment consultation service.
  • Dedicated session on the investment environment of Hong Kong. Delegation members from Guangdong will include major leaders of the provincial government and municipal governments as well as their economic administrative bodies, heads and representatives of the major enterprises.    
  
Oct. 14th, 2005 (Friday): Dinner Banquet by Shantou Municipal Government 
Time: 17:00---19:00  
 
Dedicated session on the investment environment of Hong Kong. Delegation members from Guangdong will include major leaders of the provincial government and municipal governments as well as their economic administrative bodies, heads and representatives of the major enterprises.
