Dear Sir or Madam, On behalf of The American Chamber of Commerce in South China and its Board of Governors, it is my great pleasure to extend this invitation to our upcoming Luncheon with Ambassador Alan F. Holmer on August 2nd, 2007. This February 13th, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry M. Paulson appointed Ambassador Holmer as Special Envoy for China and the Strategic Economic Dialogues. In that role, Ambassador Holmer has and will lead the ongoing bilateral economic relationship with China. It is truly our pleasure to host Ambassador Holmer and give you, our members, this opportunity to meet with this top ranking representative from the U.S. Government and hear more about U.S. policy with regard to the Strategic Economic Dialogues from its point of origin. Ambassador Holmer was Deputy U.S. Trade Representative under President Ronald Reagan, has run the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy programs at the Commerce Department, has chaired the international trade practice at a major international law firm, and was most recently President and CEO of the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA). He has co-authored three books on international trade law.
