Dear Members,

In accordance with the Bylaws of our American Chamber of Commerce in South China, a Nominating Committee of 6 members has been appointed to oversee the election of the Officers and Governors of the AmCham South China Board of Governors for the year 2008.

The Chairman of the Nominating Committee is Mr. Charles Hubbs, will make an announcement within the next few days to request candidate nominations. The Nominating Committee will then submit the list of nominees to the membership at upcoming annual General Meeting, scheduled for December 7th, 2007 for consideration by the full voting membership.

During the Meeting, Hewitt Associates will also present the 2007 Expatriate and Returnee Compensation and Benefits Study Results Presentation. With more than 145 companies participating in this year's study, this presentation is the source to help you understand the expatriate pay landscape and help you make strategic decisions about expatriate management in China.

How is the expatriate pay landscape evolving?

How do expatriate salaries compare with rising local top executive salaries?

How do the Chinese returnee packages compare to traditional expats?

What perks are remaining and which are being cut?

Are companies permanently relocating China returnees and their foreign talent?

Find the answers to these and other pressing questions at the 2007 AmCham South China & Hewitt Expatriate and Returnee Compensation and Benefits Study Results Presentation.

Highlights of the Hewitt Expatriate Study:

  • An overview of 300+ expatriate positions, including AP regional positions
