AMCHAM MEMBER PRIORITY

I am pleased to invite you to join our Seminar on China’s Intellectual Property Courts: An Initial Evaluation on October 23, 2015.

Since the establishment of Intellectual Property Courts in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou (for all of Guangdong, except Shenzhen), in late 2014, these courts have been very active in handling IP cases of first instance, particularly regarding patents, administrative cases concerning copyright, trademarks and unfair competition, and civil cases concerning well known trademarks. The IP courts also handle appeals from the first instance courts concerning trademarks, copyright, technology contracts and unfair competition in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.

These courts are destined to play a major role in IP protection in China. We shall be discussing their progress and development since the end of last year, when they were first established.

I am sure we all will have much to benefit from this event and I hope to see you there.

With best regards,

Harley Seyedin
