AmCham South China Joins the China Hi-Tech Fair 2007

Approved by the State Council and jointly hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Information Industry, the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, the China Hi-Tech Fair 2007 (CHTF 2007) was held during October 11 to 13, 2007. It is one of the leading state-level high-tech events in China.

As one of the co-organizers of this fair, the American Chamber of Commerce in South China organized numbers of members in hi-tech industries to participate in this great fair, including Dahon Technologies, Northwest Airlines, Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd and Oracle Research & Development Center (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. All these enterprises had booths in the first ever “U.S. Pavilion” to show the highest-level technologies to visitors from China and overseas.

Among all the member companies, Dahon Technologies had the largest booth to display their newly types of folding bicycles with the most advanced technologies. With the main purpose to protect the environment, Dahon researched and developed the environmental-friendly and high-speed products to satisfy customers’ needs.

Vice Minister of MOFCOM Liao Xiaoqi, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of NPC Jiang Zhenghua and the U.S. Consul General Robert Goldberg visited the U.S. Pavilion and listened to the introductions from the American companies. Mr. Harley Seyedin, President of AmCham South China, briefly introduced the Chamber’s development and future plans to the Chinese leaders and expressed that hope China and the U.S. could have more close cooperation and communications in hi-tech industry.
